There stands a tree in my hometown that demands attention. It is something that the locals know well and continue to appreciate. This tree is the Pinchot Sycamore in Simsbury, CT. It is the biggest and oldest tree in Connecticut. It stands a beautiful 23 feet and 7 inches around and is about 450 years old.
The Farmington River and the surrounding town has nurtured this tree to be exactly what it is; marvelous. In the winter I remember her being adorned with lights. A trip home isn’t fulfilled unless I can see and appreciate/share this beauty. It reminds me that all things are possible. I formally introduced my husband to the Pinchot Sycamore a couple weeks ago while traveling through town. These photos are the result of that visit.
